Howdy friends and family,
Happy Monday, happy summer, and happy cycling season!
This spiel may ring a bell for you, and I'm particularly excited to be sending it, because this year we are BACK IN PERSON for the first time in 3 years! Our annual CAP AIDs bike-a-thon fundraiser will take place on June 25 and I'm emailing today to inquire about supporting through fundraising effort or participating in the event.
The event will be on Sunday, June 25 from 2:00 - 4:30 pm and will start and finish at the Braumeister Bierhalle on Scott Street. The afternoon will include a scavenger hunt on bikes, a silent auction, some fun outdoor games, food and beverage, and some great company!
For those of you that the bell is only ringing quietly (or not at all), a quick reminder of why we're riding:
All of the proceeds from the fundraising will be going to CAP AIDS Uganda, and specifically the Home of Hope, a facility in Northern Uganda where young women affected by HIV receive wrap-around support, including safe housing, basic health services, nutritious food, psychosocial counseling, vocational skills training, childcare for their infant children, and follow-up guidance and support for new livelihoods - igniting hope for a brighter future.
If you’ll be in the Ottawa area on June 25th, I’d love to see your faces at the event. You can grab your tickets here: https://capnetwork.reachapp.co/events/the-cap-aids-ride-for-hope-bikeathon - the ticket includes food, bev, and access to the event including a particularly sweet silent auction this year!
If you won’t be able to make the event but would like to help me reach my donation goal, my donation page can be found here: http://capnetwork.reachapp.co/campaigns/madeleines-cap-ride-2023-campaign
Thanks for taking the time to consider supporting and big hugs all around,
Maddy
