Your purchase of an item supports Kijiji Cha Upendo (Village of Love) Children’s Project in its mission to lift women and children in Kibera out of extreme poverty, and also supports the businesses of the Kenyan craftspeople from whom the products were purchased.
Many items are named for a woman, girl or boy in the project. Where possible, when you purchase an item, you will receive the story of that person! Materials used for the bowls vary. Those made from olivewood are recommended for use with food. The others can be used for dry food (fruit, rolls) or simply decoration. Care of olivewood: wash with warm soapy water and dry immediately. Keep the lovely grain vibrant by rubbing in a little olive oil.
Arrangements can be made for pick up in the Bloor West Village, Toronto, or we can ship an item at the purchaser’s expense.
